Sounds like the title of a new James Bond film title right? If you think so, I’m sorry, you have to get disappointed.
Yesterday evening, I was walking with my friends in Lumbini Park, Hyderabad. The place has an awesome view of the Hussien Sagar Lake. You can see Lord Buddha blessing all of us. People were happily relaxing in the greenish gardens of the park. Children were playing around and the ambience made feel very pleasant. It reminded me about my childhood days, when I was a kid. It was a beautiful feeling. Then, all of us were narrating our experiences about the place when we came the last time. We were lost in the world of happiness.
After a few minutes, we happened to come across the Laser Show Auditorium. The very sight of that made me feel a bit uneasy. It was a place where 11 innocent people got killed in a bomb blast almost a year ago. All the images of that day flashed in my mind. I still remember the agony, the panic and the fear which crept inside every soul of Hyderabad that day. The melancholy and the lamenting of all the people who lost their loved ones, the continuous reports and updates of the TV channels and anything and everything of that day came before my eyes in a splash of a second.
It made me think about one particular fact. Didn’t those people who came to the park that day have any plans for tomorrow? Certainly yes right? I’m talking not only about those 11 people who met with tragedy. But I’m asking about all the 36 people at Gokul Chat, All the 9 at Jama Masjid and all the 170 in Mumbai. I’m sure every one of them must’ve planned something for tomorrow. None of them would’ve been ready to wrap their lives. Not only would they, No human be having such ideas.
As Aristrotle said – “Life is a thing which passes by when humans keep planning”. We are never satisfied and obviously, our wants are recurring.
We never even expect such incidents would happen to us. Not even in our dreams. Do we? But, unfortunately, the days have become like that. Too uncertain.
So, what now? Should we shut our doors and stop going outside? That is not what I want to convey. The point is, if our life is so uncertain that we don’t know what happens the next second, It is foolish to suffer the present day thinking “I will be happy 5 years later”. That day may not come. At the same time we cannot stop planning and becoming better. But there is certainly one thing we can do. It is being content for we have and being happy for what we are. After all, the purpose of living is to have a happy life else there is no point in living.
It is true that many of us waste a lot of time in the pursuit of happiness. Finally we end up enjoying nothing. The reasons for this nature are plenty. Some are worried, some are lazy, some are so damn busy that they don’t have time, etc. Strictly speaking, many of us don’t even know what happiness is. I seriously doubt if many of us really asked themselves the question “What is happiness and when will I be happy?” If you didn’t do it now. Once you know it ask yourself if u are working towards it or not.
In my view, it is not very tough. Just start your day by saying “I love you & I care for you” to your loved ones. Minimize your envy and jealousy about the material things that others have. Be proud about you and your family. Treat everyone the way you want them to treat you. That will give you more rewards than you expect. Today is something which is in our hands. It’s better not to procrastinate being happy. Happiness is like a fixed deposit. The longer you have it, the more interest it will give you.
So, live life to the Fullest.
Cheers!!!!!!!!
